How much does an MOT cost in East Lothian?
The legal maximum fee for a car MOT (class 4, up to 8 passenger seats) is £54.85. Testing stations in East Lothian can charge less than that maximum. Other vehicle classes have different maximum fees. This list does not include the price a station charges. Fee caps are published at https://www.gov.uk/getting-an-mot/mot-test-fees.
Where does the East Lothian garage list come from?
The stations on this page are rows from DVSA's published list of active MOT testing stations, updated 30 September 2026. The list covers England, Scotland and Wales and is republished about every three months, so a station may have opened or closed since then. How do I check a vehicle's MOT history?
Use the free MOT history check at https://motcheck.com/. Enter a registration to see the pass and fail results, recorded mileage and advisories held for that vehicle. MOTCheck is not a government service.
